Pilgrim Of Brixham

The Foundation is the registered charity that owns, conserves and operates the heritage sailing trawler Pilgrim of Brixham.

Pilgrim is the oldest surviving sailing trawler that was built in Brixham and still operates out of the port today. She was built at Upham’s Yard in 1895 which was situated just across the harbour from where Brixham Laboratory is today. Every year she sails in the traditional manner along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall and makes passages out to the Isles of Scilly and across to the Channel Islands and Brittany. Sailing guests come from the local area, across the country and around the globe. Our charity is run entirely by volunteers other than our professional skipper.

Pilgrim is a proud member of the UK Historic Fleet and is licensed by the Maritime and  Coastguard Agency as a Small Commercial Sailing Vessel category 2.
